THOUGHT LEADERSHIP SEMINAR: We’re Listening: Breaking the silence on mental health in the workplace
Mental health is certainly at the forefront of all of our minds at the moment, especially as employers. How do we recognise the signs that someone is suffering? How do we start a difficult conversations and how do we find the right help to assist those in need? What more can we be doing to raise awareness and how can we continue to reduce the stigma around mental health in the workplace?
Join us as we take an in-depth look at mental health in the workplace and how to tackle these tough questions.
The We’re Listening Seminar will focus on all things mental health.
We are pleased to announce our special guest presenter will be Lance Picioane, the founder of Love Me Love You, a non-profit organisation that strives to empower and build resilience in young adults so that they may overcome the stigma surrounding mental health and other life hardships.
Lance will be sharing his very personal experience with suicide and mental health, the demons he battled throughout his AFL career, and how close it came to costing him his life. Lance will take us on his journey to recovery, his founding of Love Me Love You, as well as looking into community trends, the importance of awareness campaigns and how you as as organisation can get involved.
As well as this very moving and informative presentation from Lance, we will also have presentations from our very own Claire Ebstein and Nina Salameh, who will discuss best practice when it comes to starting the conversation around mental health in the workplace.

At the end of 2011 Lance was 3 inches from suicide; fast forward 18 months and he had founded a Youth Mental Health foundation called Love Me Love You Australia, launching with a walk from Sydney to Melbourne.
