Clinical treatment
In the event that a musculoskeletal injury occurs at a BodyCare client site where the onsite physiotherapist is not in session, the offsite clinic should be the first point of call to provide treatment. It is expected that the physiotherapist will assess and treat the patient within 2-3 hours of receiving the phone call.
Following the appointment, the physiotherapist will phone the OH&S representative on-site to inform them of the patient’s condition and their plan moving forward with the patient.
It is expected that the physiotherapist will refer the patient back to the on-site physiotherapist as soon as possible after which the injury shall be managed principally on-site. In the event that on-site physiotherapy is not available, the physiotherapist will continue treatment in the clinic whilst keeping the company informed.
If required the physiotherapist will provide the employee with an Alternative Duties Handout, as provided by BodyCare.
