Case study: Manufacturing industry

Overview

Company B is a manufacturing business employing a large manual workforce of approximately 800 employees.

Bodycare commenced on site physiotherapy services at Company B in 2004. Although the nature of work at Company B suggested that neck and lower back injuries would be more prevalent, BodyCare immediately identified that forklift drivers were experiencing a disproportionate number of serious shoulder injuries.

To combat this problem, in the first 12 months of the on site service, Bodycare implemented a shoulder strengthening program. Together with the on site physiotherapy services, dramatically reduced the number of musculoskeletal claims as illustrated to the right.
